Rollings Funeral Service is proud to announce the recent acquisition of Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg, Indiana. The funeral home, which has roots in its community dating back over 100 years, was formerly owned by father and son, Michael and Matthew Porter.
Greg Rollings, president & CEO of Rollings Funeral Service, commented “I always look for firms that have a passion for serving with the highest standards, and I found just that with Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. For over 80 years, the Porter family has been serving Greensburg with compassion and care and I look forward to helping continue that tradition.” Rollings also added that this marks his first funeral home in Indiana.
Speaking with Michael Porter, he mentioned with over 40 years in funeral service and his son, Matthew, looking to steer away from the ownership path, it was time they start planning for the next chapter in the funeral home. When asked why he decided to sell his firm to Rollings Funeral Service, Porter said “Greg and Debbie aren’t a big corporation. They’re a family organization and when I met Greg for the first time, he was a real class act.” Also seeing how invested and helpful the whole Rollings Funeral Service team was when assisting the funeral home with the transition left Porter feeling he made the right decision too. “We didn’t ever feel like we were set out all alone. Everyone at Rollings was available to help whenever we needed and Greg was only ever looking out for me and my staff,” Porter mentioned.
Annually, Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home serves around 100 families.
