INDIANAPOLIS – Buchanan Group is pleased to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Private Label casket distribution company.
The company was launched in 2008 to bring greater value and high quality to customers through its funeral service division, Flanner Buchanan Funeral Centers. It proved so successful both financially and as a unique product offering that the company began to offer the caskets to other funeral service companies on a wholesale basis. At its outset, the product line included premium wood, copper, stainless steel and standard metal caskets.
Last year Private Label delivered its 100,000th casket, with distribution that has expanded throughout North America and the Caribbean. It is currently averaging delivery of 15,000 units per year and growing. Its casket product line has expanded to serve the distinct needs and trends in all major markets served.
Today Private Label serves 75 clients consistently. The company stocks over 7,000 caskets in seven warehouses strategically located in major market cities throughout the United States, with the largest being in Indianapolis. It has distributors in many states as well as in Canada, Puerto Rico and the Cayman Islands.
In 2012, the company added monuments and granite products to its line of services when it purchased Fewell Monument Company. Fewell serves distributors in most every state east of the Mississippi and beyond. Also in 2012, a line of premium cremation urns was added. In 2018, it began offering a select line of funeral home furniture.
