BATESVILLE, IN – Batesville, the nation’s largest casket manufacturer and leading provider of comprehensive solutions to the death care industry, was inducted into the Indiana Manufacturers Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Indianapolis on October 4, 2017. Batesville was one of 11 companies recognized by the Indiana Manufacturers Association (IMA) for their outstanding contributions to the development of a healthy, dynamic manufacturing environment in Indiana, and to the state’s overall economic well-being. Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb addressed questions regarding his manufacturing initiatives at the event.
The goal of the Hall of Fame is to celebrate and recognize the positive achievements made by Indiana manufacturing companies, and to honor their contributions to furthering manufacturing in Indiana. Batesville president Chris Trainor accepted the award on behalf of the company, giving credit to the Hillenbrand family for their vision and perseverance, and to the generations of Batesville associates who helped the company prosper and grow.
“We are honored to be recognized by the Indiana Manufacturers Association, and have tremendous respect for the work they are doing to elevate the importance and value of manufacturing in our state,” said Trainor.
Batesville has been part of the manufacturing landscape in Indiana since 1906 when the Hillenbrand family purchased the Batesville Coffin Company.
